ABOUT DETMA

The Deep East Texas Manufacturing Alliance (DETMA), formerly known as the East Texas Manufacturing Alliance, was established with the primary objective of empowering manufacturers to thrive and expand. As an industry-led partnership, the East Texas Manufacturing Alliance (ETMA) is dedicated to fortifying and advancing the manufacturing sector across the surrounding counties of East Texas.

Guided by local manufacturers and backed by a collaborative team of public partners, including the Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce, Angelina College, the Nacogdoches Chamber of Commerce, and other key stakeholders in education, workforce development, and economic progress, the DETMA plays a pivotal role in positively impacting local communities.

For Manufacturers: The Alliance serves as a platform where business leaders, developers, and city managers unite to address communication and organizational challenges that often hinder manufacturing growth.

For Educators: DETMA acts as a conduit for swiftly grasping the evolving needs of the industry, thereby facilitating the development of industry-driven career pathway systems. By identifying, creating, and refining curriculums, programs, and credentials, the Alliance enables educators to align their efforts with the demands of the manufacturing sector.

For Workforce Developers: For both industries and workers, DETMA offers a strategic approach to maximize the effectiveness of time and resources, leading to impactful solutions. With the support of the Alliance, workforce developers can design highly accurate training initiatives that equip future workers with the necessary skills and knowledge.

For Economic Developers: By uniting leaders in education and workforce development, DETMA provides a collaborative platform for devising strategies to bolster critical industries. It serves as an essential tool for understanding the strengths and opportunities of existing industries within the region, thus contributing to informed economic development decisions.

In essence, the Deep East Texas Manufacturing Alliance (formerly East Texas Manufacturing Alliance) stands as a driving force behind the growth and prosperity of manufacturers in the region, fostering a thriving ecosystem that benefits businesses, educators, workforce developers, and the local economy alike.
